Overview
Locking Blocks is a straightforward way to protect specific elements on your page from accidental edits or deletion. When a block is locked, its content stays exactly as intended, giving you peace of mind that critical information won't be changed by mistake.
This feature is especially useful for keeping required content, legal language, or fixed design elements in place while still allowing the rest of the document to be edited freely.
How It Works
Locking Blocks applies a protected state to any individual block on the page. Once locked, all editing actions, including modifying content, reformatting, and deleting the block - are disabled. The only available action on a locked block is unlocking it.
Locking and unlocking is controlled by the lock icon that appears at the top left of a selected block. The locked state is toggled on and off from this single control, making it quick to apply or remove protection at any time.
Locking a Block
Step 1: Select the Block
Click on the element you want to protect. The block toolbar will appear at the top left of the selected block.
Step 2: Click the Lock Icon
With the block selected, click the Lock Icon at the top left of the block. The block will immediately enter a locked state, and all editing options will be removed.
Unlocking a Block
Step 1: Select the Locked Block
Click on the locked block. A limited toolbar will appear showing only the unlock option.
Step 2: Click the Lock Icon to Unlock
Click the Lock Icon again to unlock the block. All standard block options will be restored, and the block can be edited or deleted as normal.
