Video blocks let you embed videos directly into your documents from popular hosting platforms. Here's how to add and configure video content in your Proposify documents.
Adding Video Blocks to Your Document
Accessing Video Blocks You'll find video blocks in the same content panel as other elements:
- Click the Content tab in the right sidebar
- Look for the Video block in the main blocks section
- Drag the video block onto your canvas where you want it positioned
Once placed, you'll see a placeholder area ready for your video content.
Configuring Your Video Content
Adding Your Video URL After placing your video block:
- Click on the video block to select it
- In the right sidebar, locate the Video URL field
- Paste your video link into this field
- Your video will automatically embed and display
Supported Video Platforms Currently supported platforms include:
- YouTube: Public and unlisted videos
- Vimeo: Public and private videos
Additional Platforms Coming Soon We're gradually expanding platform support to include:
- Loom: Screen recordings and quick messages
- Vidyard: Business video content
- Wistia: Professional video hosting
Resizing Video Blocks
You have two methods for adjusting video dimensions:
Manual Resizing
- Click and drag the corner handles around your video block
- Provides immediate visual feedback as you adjust size
- Good for quick layout adjustments
Precise Size Controls For exact dimensions, use the sidebar settings:
- Enter specific Width and Height values in pixels
- Useful when you need consistent sizing across multiple videos
Aspect Ratio Controls The lock icon next to sizing controls manages proportions:
- Locked (🔒): Maintains original video proportions during resizing
- Unlocked (🔓): Allows independent width and height adjustments
Note: Keeping aspect ratio locked prevents video distortion during resizing.
Video Block Settings
When a video block is selected, the right sidebar provides these configuration options:
General Settings
- Video URL: Primary field for adding your video link
- Width/Height: Precise dimension controls
- Aspect Ratio Lock: Toggle to maintain proportions
Display Options The video block automatically adapts to your document's styling while maintaining the embedded video's native controls and functionality.
Platform-Specific Considerations
YouTube Videos
- Works with both public and unlisted video links
- Video privacy settings on YouTube affect who can view the content
Vimeo Videos
- Supports public videos and private videos with proper sharing settings
- Password-protected videos may require additional viewer authentication
Managing Multiple Video Blocks
Each video block in your document operates independently:
- Videos can be different sizes within the same document
- Each video block requires its own URL configuration
- Video blocks can be repositioned like any other content element
