Creating a Document from a PDF Upload

You can now create a document by uploading a PDF. Each page of your PDF gets converted into an image, so you can bring an existing document into Proposify without rebuilding it from scratch.

This is especially handy if you already have a full document finished as a PDF and just want to get it into Proposify to add signatures and track views.

How It Works

When you upload a PDF, every page is converted into an image and added as a page in your new document. While the pages aren't editable yet, they import as images. The team is actively working on making pages editable in a future release.

Right now, PDF uploads only work when you're creating a new document. Uploading a PDF as a section inside an existing document isn't supported yet, but it's planned for a future phase.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Before You Begin

Make sure your PDF meets these limits:

  • 20 pages maximum
  • 6 MB maximum file size

If your PDF is larger than this, you'll need to split it or reduce the file size before uploading.

Uploading Your PDF

  1. Start creating a new document from the dashboard

  5. Review your document once the upload finishes

Each page converts automatically into an image, so there's no manual formatting work on your end.
