Interactive Pricing Tables

Interactive Pricing Tables let clients adjust quantities and choose optional items, while you can select billing frequencies right inside your document. Instead of seeing a static price list, clients can customize their package and watch the total update in real time. This makes it easier for prospective clients to see exactly what they're getting and gives them a sense of ownership over their final package.

How It Works

When you turn on interactive settings for a row, that row changes from a fixed line item into something clients can adjust themselves. As clients make changes, like updating a quantity, checking off an optional item, or selecting a billing frequency, all related calculations (subtotals, taxes, discounts, and totals) recalculate automatically and appear immediately in the document. No refreshing, no waiting.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Enabling Editable Quantities

  1. Select the row you want to make editable
  2. Open the Rows panel in the right sidebar
  3. Toggle Allow recipient to edit to ON
  4. Clients can now modify quantities for that row

Once this is on, clients see an editable quantity field instead of a static number. As they change the quantity, subtotals and the document total adjust automatically.

Creating Optional Items

  1. Select any row you want to make optional
  2. Navigate to the Rows panel in the sidebar
  3. Toggle Optional row to ON
  4. Clients can now check or uncheck the item to include or exclude it

Optional rows show up with checkboxes in the client view. Selecting or deselecting an item updates the document total right away.

Adding Billing Frequencies

  1. Click into a subtotal
  2. Click Billing Frequency
  3. Choose from daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual pricing

Once set, the billing frequency is broken out as its own separate subtotal below the main subtotal, so clients can clearly see recurring costs on the cadence you've chosen.

Combining Editable Quantities and Optional Items

You can turn on both settings for the same row. This lets clients decide whether to include an item and specify how much of it they want.

Key Features and Benefits

Editable Quantities

Perfect for hourly services, product quantities, or subscription users — anything where the amount can vary by client.

Optional Items

Great for add-on services, package components, or extra features that clients may or may not want.

Combined Functionality

Gives clients full control to both include an item and set its quantity, all in the same row.

Recurring Billing Frequencies

Lets you present daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual pricing as its own clearly broken-out subtotal, so recurring costs are never buried in a single total.

Template Integration

Set interactive settings at the template level once, and every future document created from that template will include the same interactive elements automatically.

Real-Time Updates

Clients see the impact of their choices instantly, which helps them make confident decisions without back-and-forth emails.

FAQs

Do I need to set up interactive elements on every document I send?

Not if you don't want to. You can configure interactive settings at the template level, and they'll carry over to every document generated from that template.

What happens to taxes and discounts when a client changes something?

They recalculate automatically along with subtotals and totals, so everything stays accurate no matter what the client changes.

Can I make a row both optional and editable at the same time?

Yes. Turn on both toggles in the Rows panel, and clients will be able to include or exclude the item and adjust its quantity.

Where do billing frequency subtotals show up?

Right below the main subtotal, broken out separately, so clients can see recurring pricing clearly instead of it blending into the total.

Which billing frequencies can I choose from?

Daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual.
