Adding, Duplicating, and Deleting Rows and Columns

Managing your table structure is straightforward with the dedicated row and column controls that appear when you select table elements. These tools let you quickly expand, duplicate, or remove parts of your pricing table as your content needs change.

Accessing Row and Column Controls

Selecting Table Elements:

  1. Click on any row in your pricing table to highlight the entire row
  2. Click on any column header to highlight the entire column
  3. The right sidebar automatically switches to show relevant controls
  4. Row or Column management buttons appear at the top of the sidebar

Row Management Options

Available Row Actions: When you've selected a row, you'll see four control buttons:

  • Add Row Above: Inserts a new row directly above your selected row
  • Add Row Below: Creates a new row immediately below your selection
  • Duplicate Row: Copies the selected row and its content, placing the duplicate below
  • Delete Row: Removes the selected row and all its content

Row Type Configuration: After adding or duplicating rows, you can adjust the Row Type using the dropdown in the sidebar. This lets you set new rows as Header, Body, or Footer types to match their intended function in your table.

Column Management Options

Available Column Actions: When you've selected a column, you'll see four similar control buttons:

  • Add Column Left: Inserts a new column to the left of your selection
  • Add Column Right: Creates a new column to the right of your selection
  • Duplicate Column: Copies the selected column including its type and formatting
  • Delete Column: Removes the selected column and all its data

Column Type Configuration: New and duplicated columns can be configured using the Column Type dropdown in the sidebar. Choose from Text, Multiplier, Price, or Subtotal types depending on what data the column should handle.

Working with Row Types

Update Selected Row Type: The sidebar includes options to change the type of your selected row, which affects both its function and appearance. When you select "Update selected row type," the change applies immediately to your highlighted row.

Row Type Options:

  • Header: For column titles and section labels
  • Body: Standard content rows with your pricing items
  • Footer: Summary rows for totals and calculations

Working with Column Types

Update Selected Column Type: Similar to rows, you can change column types using the dropdown control. This is particularly useful when you need to convert a text column to a price column, or adjust how calculations work in your table.

Column Type Options:

  • Text: Descriptive content and labels
  • Multiplier: Quantities and units for calculations
  • Price: Unit costs and rates
  • Subtotal: Calculated results (Multiplier Ă— Price)

Table Structure Considerations

Calculation Dependencies: Keep in mind that certain column types work together. If you delete a Price column but keep Multiplier and Subtotal columns, your calculations won't work correctly. The table will show zeros where calculations should appear.

Consistent Formatting: When you add new elements, they inherit the default styling for their type. This helps maintain visual consistency throughout your table, though you can always customize individual elements if needed.

Ready to customize your table structure? Click on any row or column to see the management controls, then use the intuitive buttons to add, duplicate, or remove elements as your pricing presentation requires.
