Manual Totals

Override automatic table calculations by entering custom total amounts directly in the document header. This feature is useful for negotiated pricing, package deals, or when you need totals that differ from calculated amounts.

Setting Manual Totals

Overriding Calculations:

1. Locate the total amount displayed in your document header (top of page)
2. Click directly on the total amount
3. Enter your desired total value
4. The manual total overrides all table calculations

Manual Total Behavior

Override Effects: When you set a manual total:

• Document displays your custom amount instead of calculated totals
• Pricing table calculations remain visible but don't affect the final total
• Manual total appears in document headers and sharing information

Visual Indicators: A notification appears explaining that manual totals override table calculations, helping you understand the current state of your document.

Removing Manual Totals

Restoring Calculations:

1. Click on the manual total in the document header
2. Delete the entered amount completely
3. Leave the field empty to restore automatic calculations
4. Document returns to displaying calculated totals from pricing tables

When to Use Manual Totals

Common Scenarios:

• Negotiated Packages: When final price differs from itemized costs
• Bundle Pricing: Offering package deals with special pricing
• Rounded Totals: Simplifying final amounts for easier processing
• Special Agreements: Custom pricing arrangements with specific clients

Important Considerations

Table vs. Document Totals:

• Manual totals only affect the document header display
• Pricing tables continue to show their calculated amounts
• Recipients see both the table calculations and your manual total
• Ensure your manual total makes sense in context of the itemized pricing
