Document margins and background

Control your document's layout and visual foundation through margin and background settings available in both template and document editors.

Accessing Style Settings

In Template Editor:

1. Find Template Settings in the right sidebar
2. Click Template Style
3. Access Page Layout controls

In Document Editor:

1. Navigate to Document Settings in the right sidebar
2. Click Document Style
3. Find Page Layout section

Setting Document Margins

Margin Controls The interface displays four input fields around a central rectangle representing your document:

• Top margin (above rectangle)
• Left margin (left side)
• Right margin (right side)
• Bottom margin (below rectangle)

Adjusting Margins

1. Click into any margin field
2. Enter measurement in inches
3. Values control space between content and document edges

Background Color Settings

Applying Background Color

1. Navigate to Background section
2. Click the Color picker
3. Select from preset colors or enter specific color codes
4. Background applies to entire document

Color Selection

• Use color picker for quick selection
• Enter hex codes for brand-specific colors
• Background affects entire document canvas

Coming Soon: Section Backgrounds

Section-level background controls are in development, allowing different background colors for individual document sections.

Template vs Document Settings

Template Level: Settings become defaults for all new documents created from the template

Document Level: Customize specific documents without affecting template defaults
