Document margins and background

Control your document's layout and visual foundation through margin and background settings available in both template and document editors.

Accessing Style Settings

In the Editor:

1. Select Design from the right menu
2. Choose the Page Setup tab.

Setting Document Margins

Margins control the interface displays with four input fields around a central rectangle representing your document:

• Top margin (above rectangle)
• Left margin (left side)
• Right margin (right side)
• Bottom margin (below rectangle)

Adjusting Margins

1. Click into any margin field
2. Enter measurement in inches
3. Values control the space between the content and the document edges

Background Colour Settings

Applying Background Colour

1. Navigate to the Design and Page Setup section
2. Click the circle Colour picker
3. Select from preset colours or enter specific colour codes
4. Background applies to the entire document

Colour Selection

• Use colour picker for quick selection
• Enter hex codes for brand-specific colours
• Background affects the entire document canvas

Section-level background controls are in development, allowing different background colours for individual document sections.

Template vs Document Settings

Template Level: Settings become defaults for all new documents created from the template

Document Level: Customize specific documents without affecting template defaults
