Migrating from Proposify Legacy (2.0) to New Proposify (3.0)

Ready to upgrade to New Proposify? The migration process lets you move your templates while keeping your Legacy account fully functional, so you can transition at your own pace.

How Template Migration Works

Safe Migration Process We create a complete copy of your template in Proposify 3 while leaving your original untouched in Legacy. This means you can continue using Proposify 2 as long as needed while gradually setting up your workflows in the new version.

Step-by-Step Migration

  1. Go to your Templates page in Legacy Proposify
  2. Find the template you want to migrate
  3. Click the Three-Dot Menu (•••) next to the template name
  4. Select "Migrate to Proposify V3"
  5. Wait for the migration to complete

After Migration Once finished, you'll see a confirmation message with a link to your New Proposify library. Click your template name to open it in the new editor and begin customizing.

Your newly migrated 3.0 template will only appear in the new content library, not the old one.

Review and fix your migrated template

After you look at your newly migrated template you'll likely notice some things have shifted around. If your font isn't rendering properly, go to your settings > fonts to make sure the font is turned on.

Currently, the migration tool doesn't cover every piece of functionality, such as variables, pricing tables, or shapes.

There will be some needed cleanup and manual fixing of templates for now, but we're improving our migration tool to cover more functionality.

Integration Requirements

Important Note About Integrations Your existing integrations won't automatically transfer to New Proposify. The integration systems are completely separate between Legacy and New Proposify. You can have multiple integrations set up at the same time, one for 2.0 documents and one for 3.0 documents.

Reconnecting Integrations After migrating templates, you'll need to:

  1. Navigate to the Integrations page in New Proposify
  2. Connect your desired integrations from scratch
  3. Configure settings specific to your New Proposify workflows

For detailed setup instructions, check out our integration guides.

Migration Strategy

Gradual Transition Approach Since both versions remain functional, consider this phased approach:

  1. Test Migration: Start with one frequently-used template. Proposify 3 doesn't have sections yet but soon will, so we recommend combining sections in your template in V2 before migrating - that way you only need to clean it up once and then can save your different sections once that's available in version 3.
  2. Compare Functionality: Ensure the migrated template meets your needs. You'll need to rebuild your pricing tables, use text boxes as shapes, and reapply variables in the template for now.
  3. Team Training: Get comfortable with New Proposify's interface.
  4. Full Migration: Move additional templates as you're ready

What Stays the Same Your account data, contact information, and document history remain intact in Legacy Proposify throughout the migration process.

Getting Started

The migration tool makes moving to New Proposify straightforward, but take your time to explore the enhanced features and updated interface. Each migrated template gives you a foundation to build upon in the new environment.
