New Proposify (3) vs Legacy Proposify (2) - What's the difference?

In May 2025, we released Proposify 3 in beta. It is a completely new version of Proposify when it comes to documents, content library, and editing, although it currently shares some of the same pages and functionality as the legacy version (eg: contacts, users, settings).

We are gradually moving all functionality over to the new platform, and will be assisting our customers on the legacy version to migrate their templates and content library over to the new Proposify.

What's the difference?

Legacy Proposify was built on older technology that makes it harder to improve and leads to buggy editing and slow performance. New Proposify was built with modern software architecture and technology, making it faster and easier to build on and improve.

New Proposify has easier, more reliable editing, and pages load much faster. We're continually releasing updates, improvements, and features to New Proposify, whereas Legacy Proposify is deprecated, meaning that we are not releasing any updates for it and will only fix things like downtime that causes workflow stoppage.

How do I know which version I'm on?

If you signed up to a new Proposify account after May 2025, you are likely on the new version unless you asked our support team to move you to the old version.

If you are on the legacy version, you will have access to both versions, whereas if you're on new Proposify you don't have access to legacy.

Here's a visual example of the difference between versions:

Integrations

Both versions share the same integrations page. If you're on legacy you'll see both 2.0 and 3.0 integrations. 2.0 integrations are labelled "Legacy".

Do customers on legacy have access to New Proposify?

Yes, all customers on the legacy platform can freely use New Proposify as part of their subscription at no extra cost.

From the proposal Pipeline page, click on "try out Proposify 3.0 Beta" to switch your user to the beta. This gives you the full New Proposify experience.

Your existing content does not appear in 3.0 but content migrations are planned for Q3. From the beta you can switch back to Legacy Proposify at any time.

How do I migrate over to New Proposify?

Content migration is currently offline while we work on improvements.

We are launching an improved migration tool later this year which will transfer your templates over more smoothly along with your entire content library so you don't need to re-create everything from scratch.

For now, while Proposify 3 is in beta, we're focused on improving it and adding back features that our customers rely on so when they are in the new version it has everything they need.

Check out our Template Gallery in the meantime to get started with New Proposify.
