Is the Salesforce appex app not for you? Here’s how to uninstall the app from your Salesforce account.
The Salesforce integration does quite a bit for your business. It may not suit your workflow, though. While we’d love to hear feedback on the reason it doesn’t fit, here’s a quick guide to uninstalling in the meantime.
There are three steps to uninstalling your appex app:
HEADS UP: You will need to be a Salesforce admin to complete these steps.
Remove the Component From Your Object
To uninstall the app, you’ll need to remove the widget from your Opportunities page. You’ll need to do this for both Lightning and Classic versions, provided you’ve installed it on both. If you only have it installed in one version of Salesforce, then you can skip the other.
Classic:
To uninstall the App in Classic mode, enter an opportunity with the widget installed. From there, click “edit layout” at the top of the opportunity:
From the layout editor, find the section that is holding the proposify_opportunity widget. Click the “remove” button found at the right of that section’s title:
NOTE: there’s a very similar button inside the proposify_opportunity widget. That one says “remove” rather than “remove section”. Clicking on that will remove the visualforce page, but won’t remove the section.
Once you’ve removed the section and widget, you can click “save” at the top left of the editor to save your changes:
Lightning:
To uninstall the widget in lightning experience, click the “setup” button:
From there, click “object manager” found next to the “home” tab at the top of the page:
Scroll down the list and click on “Opportunity”:
From the left-hand menu in this page, click on “lightning record pages”:
Then click “Opportunity Record Page”:
Then click “edit” from this page:
This will take you to a UI editor like Proposify’s editor page. In the central column, find the Proposify widget and hover your cursor over it. Click on the trash bin icon that appears on the top right:
When you’ve removed it, click the “save” button at the top right of the page:
Remove Any Dependencies
Before you reach the final step, verify if the Proposify Appex app is linked to any other services within Salesforce. This can include things like:
-
Process Builder
-
Workflow Rules
-
Email Templates
-
Any subfolders linked to this app
Find anything that is linked to the Proposify Appex app and remove that link. Due to the number of possible dependencies that can be placed, we can't walk through all of them. If you can't remember all of the dependencies, don't worry. You'll receive a notification in the next step if something was missed.
Uninstall the Components
Once you’ve removed the widgets from your Opportunity pages, you can uninstall the app. To do this, reach the setup page by clicking “setup” at the top right of your page.
In Classic mode:
In Lightning:
From the setup page, go to “installed packages”. You can find this super-quick by using the quick search bar at the top of the left-hand menu:
From the installed packages page, click the “uninstall” button next to Proposify:
You’ll see a confirmation page showing all the packages you’re about to remove from your account. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Check the box next to “yes, I want to uninstall this package..."
Then click uninstall and these packages will be removed.
That’s it! Your Salesforce account has now removed the Salesforce two-way integration.
