The custom fields feature allows you to add and use form fields in Proposify in the proposal settings, client company, and contact areas. You can then automatically populate that information in your proposal using custom variables.

Reaching your Custom Fields

You can reach the Custom Fields settings from the Account Settings page. 

Add a custom field

click a section in which a new custom field will be added.

User Fields: Anything to do with you and your company.

Client Company Fields: Refers to your client and their business.

Client Contact Fields: Any information you want to include besides the company address.

Proposal Fields: Information about your proposals.


Click Add Custom Field to add.

Click show all default fields to view the default fields.

a) Fill out the name and value for a new custom field and click save.

b) Click Edit to customize the shortcode used to signify the custom field.

HEADS UP: If a field is deleted from here, it will be removed from all proposals!

 

Use Custom Fields

You can edit and manage all your variables (your Company, client, proposal and custom fields) when you are writing a sales document using the Variables menu in the Menu Pane.

Insert through the Menu Pane

Activate the Textbox Properties by clicking inside any available textbox on the page. The Properties pane will appear on the right. click variables.

To add a variable to your proposal, click + beside the variable you would like to use.

 

Insert a variable through shortcut #

Insert a variable by using keyboard shortcut # . Click inside the text box and type # to bring up the variables menu.

To change the variable to another option - say you had first entered your user name and need to change it to the company name, click the variable. A popup will appear, click the Change Variable to swap out a different variable. If you would like to change the background colour of the variable for more visibility, click the eyedropper icon.

A few notes:

Any custom fields that you have set up in proposals will be removed and, where applicable, replaced with their current value. 

Save time by setting up custom fields for your proposals, contacts, and user settings. No more manually entering all the details - just set up your fields and this feature populates the information for you. 

If a field is deleted from the account settings, then it will be removed from all proposals.
